In The Chronicles: Wasteland, players dive into the perilous ruins of Dubai, overrun by deadly Screamers. Step into the role of iconic characters from the hit novel as you fight to reclaim the deadlands, building up defenses, unlocking new heroes, and gathering essential resources to survive.

To survive, players can craft, upgrade, and unlock an arsenal of weapons—from ballistic firearms to nitrogen canisters—to suit their playstyle. Progress is by completing character-specific quests, expanding skills, and rescuing trapped survivors. The game initially released for PC via Steam on May 27, 2023.

The Chronicles: Wasteland Assault Free Now On Steam

The Chronicles: Wasteland Assault version 1 launched early last year and has had quite a few updates already. It includes the usual bug fixes, plus some new screamers, new levels, a map overhaul, and better customization. After a while however, it became clear to the dev that a new direction for the game was in order. But it will take time.

After a year in hiatus, the game is “back” and is being developed for its version 2. Being that this newer version is due to launch very soon, TC:WA v1 is now available to play for free on Steam. It is now labeled more as a demo to the game, rather than an earlier version of it.
